Women’s Movement We have heard a lot of talk about how women want equal opportunity and they want to be treated equally in the work place. To some people this may seem like an old idea, and it is, but the struggle that women have had to go through to achieve many of the rights that they have now has not been easy. It has been long and extremely difficult. For scores of years, women have been helping men get through the problems of this country and yet they do not get the same recognition that men do. Through careful planning and staying focus on one goal, women have been able to finally get equal rights, at least on paper; whether this is actually practiced in the real world is another topic. Throughout the Civil War, women had been very helpful to the abortionists because of two main reasons. One, they were more sympathetic to the slaves and wanted to help them gain their freedom; and two, if slaves got the right to vote, then they could use that as part of their argument to try to gain support for the suffrage of women....
